The restyled 1970 Road Runner was part of Plymouth's new "Rapid Transit System" family of high-performance cars. Whimsical new features included optional "dust trail" side stripes and a wild collection of attention grabbing "High Impact" paint colors. The optional 440+6 engine ran a trio of 2-barrel carbs and punched out 390 horsepower and a whopping 490 lb-ft of torque. So equipped, a Road Runner could cut the quarter mile in the mid-13 second range at over 102 mph.
